BREITLING WARRANTY EXTENSION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These terms set out the conditions of the Breitling Warranty Extension. The benefits of the Warranty Extension are supplementary to those provided under the standard manufacturer warranty and do not affect your statutory rights under consumer law, which remain unaffected. Please note that purchasing the Breitling Warranty Extension is optional. The warranty coverage is provided in accordance with the conditions outlined below. 

1. INFORMATION ABOUT US 

The Breitling Warranty Extension is provided to you, the customer, by Breitling SA, a company registered in Switzerland (Company Registration No. CHE-102.177.526), with its main office at Léon Breitling-Strasse 2, 2540 Grenchen, Switzerland (“Breitling” or “we”).

2. BREITLING WARRANTY EXTENSION 

The Breitling Warranty Extension is a commercial guarantee that protects your Breitling watch against manufacturing defects. It extends the duration of the Breitling International Warranty applicable to your watch and can only be purchased for a Breitling watch still covered by a valid Breitling International Warranty. 

The Warranty Extension is exclusively available for new watches purchased directly from Breitling or an authorized retailer. It cannot be purchased for used or refurbished watches, nor combined with any other warranty extension for the same watch.  

To purchase the Breitling Warranty Extension, you must create a 'My Account' on the Breitling website. The Breitling Warranty Extension you purchase is valid only in the country associated with the Breitling website or Concierge Service from which the purchase was made. 

3. WHAT IS COVERED BY THE BREITLING WARRANTY EXTENSION? 

The Breitling Warranty Extension covers manufacturing defects of Breitling watches, subject to the conditions and limitations specified in these Terms and Conditions. Claims will only be valid if they meet the outlined criteria, and the damage is not excluded under these Terms and Conditions. For the Breitling Warranty Extension, the same exceptions as for Breitling International Warranty apply, which are available here.  

The Breitling Warranty Extension does not affect your statutory consumer rights as provided by law in the event of a defect. 

4. WHEN DOES THE BREITLING WARRANTY EXTENSION START AND FOR HOW LONG? 

The Breitling Warranty Extension becomes effective the day after the expiration of the Breitling International Warranty for your watch. Duration:  

  • Mechanical Manufacture Breitling Movement: if your Breitling watch has a Mechanical Manufacture Breitling Movement (models with names starting with "B" followed by two digits between 01 and 35, e.g., B01 to B35), the Breitling International Warranty is extended by an additional 3 years.  

  • Other Movements: for watches with any other movement, the warranty is extended by an additional 2 years.

5. WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THE BREITLING WARRANTY EXTENSION? 

The following are not covered under the Breitling Warranty Extension:  

  • Theft, loss, acts of God, or natural disasters; 

  • Accidental damages such as blows, shocks, or crushing; 

  • Damage resulting from mistreatment or improper use; 

  • Damage resulting from any tampering with the watch by any party other than an authorized Breitling Service Centre; 

  • Damages to straps other than defects of metal bracelets; 

  • Wear and tear from normal use and ageing of the watch and/or the metal bracelet and buckle or clasp; 

  • Any routine services as per the recommended service plan of your Breitling watch 

  • Repairs of a watch requested while the warranty has not been activated; and  

  • Water resistance problems and their consequences (except for watches with a mechanical Manufacture Breitling Movement, where water resistance problems are covered if water resistance tests have been performed every two years). 

6. WHEN AND HOW DO I PAY FOR THE BREITLING WARRANTY EXTENSION? 

The total cost, including applicable taxes, will be provided before you purchase the Breitling Warranty Extension. These costs will also be outlined in your order confirmation and invoice.  

Payment can be made via bank transfer, credit/debit card, or other supported payment methods available on the checkout page. All payments are subject to verification. If your payment method is declined, please resolve the issue directly with your payment provider. Breitling shall not be held liable for any delays or non-delivery resulting from issues related to third-party payment services. 

Payment may be processed by a third-party processing entity. For orders through our Concierge Service, you will need to provide your credit card number and security code (CVV2/CVC2/CID) to the concierge. For security reasons and quality control, the telephone conversation may be recorded. Credit card information recorded during a telephone call is fully encrypted and used only for the purpose of processing the transaction. 

Breitling takes precautions (such as administrative, technical, and physical measures) to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Where personal information is collected on webpages, Breitling uses Secure Sockets Layer encryption. However, please note that transmitting information online is not completely secure. Although Breitling will exercise reasonable care and implement safeguards to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted to our website. Any transmission is at your own risk, and Breitling cannot be held liable. 

Upon making payment for the Breitling Warranty Extension online or via phone, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your payment. The contract for the Breitling Warranty Extension between you and us will be considered formed once we send you this confirmation. 

7. WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND? 

If you are a resident of the European Union or the United Kingdom and purchased the Breitling Warranty Extension online or by phone, you have the right to cancel the warranty within fourteen (14) days from the date the contract is concluded (right of withdrawal). 

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must send us a clear statement (e.g., a letter sent by post to Breitling SA, Léon Breitling-Strasse, 2540 Grenchen, Switzerland, or an email to info.ch@breitling.com) informing us of your decision to withdraw. Once we receive your statement, we will send you an email confirming your withdrawal. You may use the model withdrawal form provided below, though this is not mandatory. Alternatively, you can contact our Concierge Service by phone using the specific service number for your country. If you have purchased the Breitling Warranty Extension, and your claim is valid, Breitling will refund the purchase price immediately upon receipt of your notice and no later than fourteen (14) days from that date. The refund will be made to the same payment method used for the original order, unless you specify an alternative method.

8. WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY BREITLING WATCH NEEDS SERVICE? 

If your Breitling watch is eligible for a valid claim under the Breitling Warranty Extension, Breitling will offer you one of the following options:   

  • Repair: the Breitling watch will be repaired at no additional cost to you, covering both labor costs and spare parts; or  

  • Replacement: if repair is not viable, Breitling will either send you the same Breitling watch as a replacement, at no additional cost, or provide another Breitling product of equivalent or higher value. In the latter case, the initial price will be deducted, and you will only be required to pay the difference for a higher value item that you agree to purchase.  

 We will determine whether the service will be carried out through repair or replacement. In the case of a replacement, Breitling will retain the original Breitling watch that you send for service. Please note that under the Breitling Warranty Extension, your Breitling watch will only be repaired or replaced; no cash compensation will be provided by Breitling in the event of a claim. To the extent permitted by applicable law, services provided under the Breitling Warranty Extension do not extend the warranty period nor initiate a new warranty period. The warranty period for any spare parts fitted will expire concurrently with the warranty period for the Breitling watch.  

9. WHO CAN I CONTACT? 

To make a claim, please contact us as follows:   

 If your Breitling watch qualifies for a valid claim, you will receive the relevant information on how to proceed with servicing your watch. You may either drop it off at one of our Breitling Service Centers or send it to us. A list of Service Centers is available on our website. Breitling will cover the reasonable costs associated with transporting the Breitling watch to us, provided you adhere to the instructions given by Breitling.  

10. WHAT ARE THE LIMITATIONS OF BREITLING’S LIABILITY? 

Subject to the mandatory provisions of applicable law that cannot be excluded, limited, or modified, our liability to you shall be limited to damages directly resulting from a failure on our part. In no event shall Breitling be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with our products, services, their use, or their sale, including any loss of profits, business interruption, or other losses that were not foreseeable at the time the contract was entered into, nor for any inaccuracies or omissions in the information provided by Breitling regarding third-party service providers.  If we fail to comply with these Terms and Conditions, our liability shall be limited to the price you paid for the Breitling Warranty Extension and any loss directly resulting from such non-compliance, whether arising under contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, to the extent that such loss is a foreseeable consequence of our failure to comply.  Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit our liability for:  

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.  

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or  

  • Any other matter for which it would be illegal for us to exclude or attempt to exclude our liability.  

 11. GENERAL PROVISIONS 

If certain provisions of these Terms and Conditions are declared void or partially invalid, the other clauses shall remain unaltered in their force and effect. The invalid provisions are replaced by the applicable legal provisions of Swiss law including those which were not provided for in these Terms and Conditions. 

The waiver by us of a breach of any provision of these Terms and Conditions will not operate and/or be interpreted as a waiver of any other or subsequent breach.  

This contract is between us and you. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms, unless otherwise expressly stated in writing by Breitling. 

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland without reference to any conflict of law provisions. These Terms and Conditions shall not be subject to the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.  

If you have any dispute with us, we encourage you to first contact us at info@breitling.com with a brief description of your complaint and your contact details. We are committed to resolving disputes amicably and swiftly through good faith negotiations. Should an amicable resolution not be feasible, any disputes arising from or related to these Terms and Conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the domicile of Breitling SA. If you reside in a country where consumer protection laws grant you the right to bring disputes in local courts, this paragraph will not affect those rights.
