International Warranty

Your Breitling watch or chronograph is warranted against any manufacturing defect in accordance with these terms and conditions (“Breitling International Warranty”) from the date of purchase of the watch (“Warranty Period”).  

Subject to the specified Warranty Period, if your Breitling watch or chronograph is eligible for a valid claim under the Breitling International Warranty, Breitling will offer you one of the following options: 

  • repair the Breitling product at no additional cost to you, covering both labor costs and spare parts;  

  • upon availability, send you the same Breitling product as a replacement, at no additional cost to you; or  

  • replace the Breitling product with another Breitling product of equivalent or higher value. In such cases, the initial price will be deducted, and you will only be required to pay the difference for a higher value item that you agree to purchase.  

In cases where repairing your Breitling product would incur an excessively high cost for Breitling, or if a replacement is not available, Breitling may also offer a partial or full refund, depending on the specific circumstances. 

The benefits offered under the Breitling International Warranty are in addition to any other rights or remedies that you have under a law in relation to the goods or services to which the warranty relates.

Breitling movements

Your Breitling watch or chronograph equipped with a non-Breitling mechanical movement is warranted against any manufacturing defect for a period of two years (Breitling International Warranty) from the date of purchase of the watch (Warranty Period) in accordance with these terms and conditions.

MECHANICAL MANUFACTURE BREITLING MOVEMENTS

Watches or chronographs equipped with a Breitling Manufacture mechanical movement are covered by the Breitling International Warranty with an extended warranty period of 5 (five) years (Breitling International Manufacture Movement Warranty). The Breitling International Manufacture Movement Warranty covers any manufacturing defect in the Breitling mechanical movement, provided that water-resistance tests are carried out every two years from the date of purchase.

HOW CAN I TELL IF MY WATCH HAS A BREITLING MANUFACTURE MECHANICAL MOVEMENT?

Check the model number on the case back of your watch.

If the second letter is a B and the next 2 numbers are between 01 and 35 (B01 to B35), your watch has a Breitling Manufacture mechanical movement.

Warranty activation and information

Once the Breitling International Warranty has been activated, the following information will be available to you, either by scanning the QR code on your warranty card with your smartphone and/or by accessing this information at any official Breitling retailer or Breitling Boutique:

  • Model name

  • Model reference

  • Serial number

  • Warranty activation date

  • International warranty period.

The warranty remains valid during the warranty period only if any necessary service or repair work on your Breitling watch or chronograph is carried out by an authorised Breitling Service Center.

The Breitling International Warranty does not cover (hereinafter referred to as “Exceptions”):

  • Theft, loss, acts of God, natural disasters and accidents (impact, shock or crushing, etc.).

  • Damage resulting from mishandling or improper use.

  • Damage resulting from tampering with the watch by anyone other than an authorized Breitling Service center.

  • Bracelets other than metal bracelets.

  • Normal wear and tear and aging of the watch and/or the metal bracelet and clasp.

  • Any routine service carried out in accordance with the recommended service plan for your Breitling watch.

  • Applications for the repair of a watch of which the warranty has not been activated.

The Breitling International Manufacture Movement Warranty does not cover:

  • Water resistance problems and their consequences if the water resistance tests have not been performed every two years.

Furthermore, the same exceptions as for the Breitling International Warranty apply.

NOTE: The Breitling International Warranty does not in any way affect the consumers’ rights legally recognized by the law applicable in the product’s country of purchase.


Claiming under the Breitling International Warranty

You can claim your warranty under Breitling International Warranty by: 

 If you make a valid warranty claim, Breitling will be responsible for the reasonable costs associated with transporting any Breitling defective products to us.

As an additional service, Breitling offers registered clients the option to purchase an extension of the Breitling International Warranty and/or the Breitling International Manufacture Movement Warranty on https://www.breitling.com (each referred to as a 'Breitling Warranty Extension'). This extension covers your Breitling watch or chronograph against any manufacturing defect for an additional period, as set out in the terms and conditions below and the Terms and Conditions for Extended Warranties. Please review both documents carefully before purchasing the Breitling Warranty Extension to fully understand the coverage, terms, and any exceptions.  

If applicable to you, please refer to the T&Cs document for details on the terms of the Breitling Complementary Extended Warranty.

BREITLING MOVEMENTS

For watches or chronographs equipped with any other than a mechanical Manufacture Breitling Movement, the Breitling International Warranty is extended for an additional warranty period of 2 (two) years (“Extended Breitling International Warranty”).

+3 years

MECHANICAL MANUFACTURE BREITLING MOVEMENTS

Incl. VAT

For watches or chronographs equipped with a mechanical Manufacture Breitling Movement, the Breitling International Manufacture Movement Warranty is extended for an additional warranty period of 3 (three) years (“Extended Breitling International Manufacture Movement Warranty”).

The Extended Breitling International Manufacture Movement Warranty does cover any manufacturing defect of the mechanical Manufacture Breitling movement, provided that water resistance tests are performed every two years following the date of purchase by an authorized Breitling service center.

These tests are conducted free of charge.

The Breitling Warranty Extension takes effect on the next day following the day of expiration of the Breitling International Warranty and/or the Breitling International Manufacture Movement Warranty. If your Breitling watch or chronograph is eligible for a valid claim under the Breitling Warranty Extension, Breitling will offer you one of the following options: 

  • repair the Breitling product at no additional cost to you, covering both labor costs and spare parts;  

  • upon availability, send you the same Breitling product as a replacement, at no additional cost to you; or  

  • replace the Breitling product with another Breitling product of equivalent or higher value. In such cases, the initial price will be deducted, and you will only be required to pay the difference for a higher value item that you agree to purchase. 


The Breitling Warranty Extension is an additional service that you can only purchase for a Breitling watch and/or Breitling Chronograph which is still under valid Breitling International Warranty and/or Breitling International Manufacture Movement Warranty.  
 
The Breitling Warranty Extension is a one-time extension only and cannot be combined with a second Breitling Warranty Extension for the same Breitling watch and/or Breitling chronograph.  
 
The Warranty Extension remains valid during the Warranty Extension Period only if any required servicing or repair work on your Breitling watch or chronograph has been carried out by an authorized Breitling service center.  
 
For the Breitling Warranty Extension, same Exceptions as for the Breitling International Warranty and/or the Breitling International Manufacture Movement Warranty apply.

Claiming under the Breitling International Warranty

You can claim your warranty under Breitling International Warranty by: 

 If you make a valid warranty claim, Breitling will be responsible for the reasonable costs associated with transporting any Breitling defective products to us.  

SERVICE WARRANTY

  • All interventions carried out by a certified Breitling service center as well as parts, which are exchanged, are covered by mandatory legal warranty, as applicable per national law in the country where the service is performed (“Repair Warranty”).

  • The works performed within the Repair Warranty and duration of warranty for each, are displayed on the invoice and/or delivery note.

  • For the Repair Warranty, as far as not in contradiction with applicable mandatory legal warranty, same Exceptions as for Breitling International Warranty apply.
