BREITLING WARRANTY EXTENSION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. INFORMATION ABOUT US:

This warranty is provided to the customer (you, your), by Breitling. We are a company incorporated in Switzerland and our registered office address is at Léon Breitling-Strasse 2, 2540 Grenchen, Switzerland.  

2. BREITLING WARRANTY EXTENSION:

The Breitling Warranty Extension is a commercial guarantee protecting your Breitling watch against any manufacturing defects. It extends the duration of the Breitling International Warranty, which is described on www.breitling.com. Breitling Warranty Extension does not affect in any way your statutory consumer rights provided by law in case of defect. 

The Breitling Warranty Extension is a one-time warranty extension available only for the purchase of a new watch (cannot be purchased to protect a used or refurbished watches). It cannot be combined with a second warranty extension for the same watch. The Breitling Warranty Extension only covers Breitling watches purchased from an authorized Breitling retailer. 

3. WHAT IS COVERED BY THE BREITLING WARRANTY EXTENSION?

The Breitling Warranty Extension covers the manufacturing defects of Breitling watches subject to the conditions set in these Terms and Conditions and provided that the claim made is valid, and the damage is not excluded under these Terms and Conditions. 

4. WHEN DOES THE BREITLING WARRANTY EXTENSION START AND FOR HOW LONG?

The Breitling Warranty Extension becomes effective on the next day following the day of expiration of the Breitling International Warranty of your Breitling watch. The duration of the Breitling Warranty Extension depends on the type of movement in your watch.  

Some of our watches have a mechanical movement manufactured by Breitling (“Mechanical Manufacture Breitling Movement"). Those are all models which name include a B and the two following figures range from 01 to 35 (B01 to B35). The reference is also reproduced at the back of the case. 

For watches equipped with a Mechanical Manufacture Breitling Movement, the Breitling International Warranty is extended for an additional warranty period of 3 (three) years.  

For watches equipped with any other movement than a Mechanical Manufacture Breitling Movement, the Breitling International Warranty is extended for an additional warranty period of 2 (two) years.

5. WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THE BREITLING WARRANTY EXTENSION? 

  • Theft, loss, acts of God, or natural disasters;
  • Accidental damages such as blows, shocks, or crushing;
  • Damage resulting from mistreatment or improper use;
  • Damage resulting from any tampering with the watch by any party other than an authorized Breitling Service Centre;
  • Damages to straps other than defects of metal bracelets;
  • Wear and tear from normal use and ageing of the watch and/or the metal bracelet and buckle or clasp;
  • Any routine services as per the recommended service plan of your Breitling watch
  • Repairs of a watch requested while the warranty has not been activated; and 
  • Water resistance problems and their consequences (nevertheless, for a watch with a mechanical Manufacture Breitling Movement, water resistance problems are covered if the water resistance tests have been performed every two years).

6. WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND?

If you are a resident of the European Union, you can cancel the Breitling Extension Warranty if concluded online or by phone, within fourteen (14) days after the date on which the contract is concluded (right of withdrawal).  

In order to exercise your right of withdrawal, you must send us a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or email to Breitling SA. Léon Breitling-Strasse, 2540 Grenchen, Switzerland, email: info.ch@breitling.com) informing us about your decision to make use of your right of withdrawal. Once received by Breitling, you will receive an email confirming your statement of withdrawal. In order to do so, you may use the below model withdrawal form, but this is not mandatory. Alternatively, you may contact our Concierge Service via phone by calling the specific service number provided for your country. You can find a list with the specific country numbers and further contact information here https://www.breitling.com/ch-en/service/. 

Breitling will refund the purchase price immediately after receipt of your notice and no later than fourteen (14) days from that date. The payment details used for the order will also be used for the refund, unless indicated otherwise by you.

7. WHEN AND HOW DO I PAY?

Actual costs and prices including applicable taxes will be indicated to you before you subscribe to the Breitling Extended Warranty. Such costs and taxes will be indicated on your order confirmation email and on your invoice. 

Payment can be made either by bank transfer or by credit or debit card. The available supported payment cards and methods are shown to you at the check-out page. Invoice payment may be available in some countries and will be specified on the check-out page where available. 

Payment may be processed by a third-party processing entity. For orders through our Concierge Service, you will need to communicate your credit card number and security code (CVV2/CVC2/CID) to the concierge. For security reasons and quality control, the telephone conversation may be recorded. Credit card information recorded during a telephone call is fully encrypted and used only for the purpose of processing the transaction. 

All credit/debit card holders are subject to verification, validation checks and authorization by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorize payment to Breitling, you need to contact your card issuer directly to resolve the issue. Breitling will not be liable for delay or non-delivery in case of issues related to third party payment services. 

The full purchase amount will be reserved on your credit card until your order is shipped to the shipping address you have provided to Breitling; at which time you will be sent an order confirmation email and your credit or debit card will be charged the full purchase price. 

Breitling takes precautions, such as administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Where personal information is collected on webpages, Breitling uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Note however that transmitting information over the Internet is not completely secure. Although Breitling will exercise reasonable care and implement safeguards to protect your personal Information, we cannot guarantee the security of the data you transmit to our website. Any transmission is at your own risk and Breitling cannot be held liable. 

You may also have the option to pay by using additional online payment methods like PAYPAL or GOOGLE PAY under the conditions specified by each payment system. The available supported payments methods are shown to you at the check-out page. 

8. WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY BREITLING WATCH NEEDS SERVICE?

If your Breitling watch is eligible for a valid claim under the Breitling Warranty Extension, Breitling will offer you one of the following options:  

  • Repair: the Breitling product will be repaired at no additional cost to you, covering both labor costs and spare parts; or 
  • Replacement: if repair is not viable, Breitling will either send you the same Breitling product as a replacement, at no additional cost, or provide another Breitling product of equivalent or higher value. In the latter case, the initial price will be deducted, and you will only be required to pay the difference for a higher value item that you agree to purchase. 

In the event of a replacement, Breitling will retain the original watch that you send for service. Please note that under the Breitling Warranty Extension, your Breitling watch can only be repaired or replaced; no cash benefit will be provided by Breitling if you make a claim. 

9. WHO CAN I CONTACT?

For any question or to make a claim under the Breitling Warranty Extension, feel free to contact our customer center:  

If your Breitling watch is eligible for a valid claim, you will be able to drop it off at one of our Breitling Service Centers or send it to us. The list of Service Centers can be found on our website. Breitling will also be responsible for the reasonable costs associated with transporting the Breitling defective products to us, as long as you follow the instructions provided by Breitling.  

If you have a complaint: 

If you have a complaint, please email info.ch@breitling.com and describe the issue. Please also include information about your watch model and serial number (if applicable), purchase details, and contact details. Breitling aims to address complaints within 14 days of receiving them. If a complaint requires a foreseeable longer processing time, Breitling will reply within the period of fourteen (14) days with a notice of receipt and an estimated timeframe for a more detailed response. 

EU consumers:

You may also submit your complaint through the online dispute resolution platform (ODR platform) provided by the European Commission for online sales between a consumer resident in the European Union and a seller in the European Union. This platform is accessible at the following address: https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/odr/. The use of the platform is neither mandatory, nor a prerequisite for legal action. 

While Breitling aims to resolve any issues promptly, nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to limit or undermine your legal rights as a consumer that cannot be waived or restricted by contract.
