Coppi & Bartali

Top Time Coppi & Bartali

Few figures in cycling embody resilience, sportsmanship, and camaraderie like Fausto Coppi and Gino Bartali. Their fierce rivalry electrified 1940s Italy, uniting the nation through extraordinary victories—yet beneath the competition lay a deep mutual respect. Both Coppi and Bartali were Breitling ambassadors at a time when the brand served as the official timekeeper for cycling’s greatest races. Today, we honor their legacy with a pair of limited-edition Top Time watches, celebrating Coppi and Bartali’s enduring impact on sport and society.

Top Time B01 Coppi

Top Time was Willy Breitling’s unconventional chronograph, designed as a fun racing watch with bold dial designs for a generation that grew up watching Coppi and Bartali compete. To fans, Fausto Coppi was known as Il Campionissimo or “champion of champions” for the stack of victories he racked up, including five wins at the Giro d’Italia, two at the Tour de France, and a world championship. This limited-edition Top Time Coppi chronograph is as distinctive as the man himself, with turquoise subdials, a crisp white dial, and an orange lightning-bolt seconds hand, it channels the bold colors of Coppi’s legendary bike—finished with his signature at six o’clock and nickname, Il Campionissimo, in the tachymeter scale. A watch fit for a champion, in just 750 pieces.

Top Time B01 Bartali

The Top Time was designed for an age of self-expression, the ultimate statement of individuality for a generation that bucked convention and resisted conformity. Gino Bartali defied expectations, becoming a force for change in Italy—on and off the bike. His grit earned him three Giro d’Italia wins, two Tour de France victories, and the name L’intramontable, or “timeless.” As uniquely designed as its namesake, the Top Time B01 Bartali features a blue dial and yellow accents, complemented by Bartali’s signature at six o’clock and his L’intramontabile moniker in the tachymeter scale. The racing leather calfskin strap echoes the vibrant shades of his iconic jersey. Limited to just 750 pieces, it’s a watch that, like Bartali himself, stands apart—timeless, in every sense.
